Around and about the mythical Nationale 7 ! (route nb1)

Valence

Departure from Valence with the promise of a fine escapade between the Hermitage vineyards (see the famous grands crus Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage) and the discovery of the minor gems of heritage that can be found on either side of the mythical Nationale 7 ! (94 km)

Description

Unmissable : tasting the Hermitage wines, the ‘Belvédères de l’Hermitage’ road, the tour of Valence to discover the old town (‘Maison des Têtes’, Armenian Heritage Centre, ‘Pendentif’, and the cathedral, but also the canals which criss-cross the town). Please note: In 2013, the ‘Cité du Chocolat Valrhona’ will open its doors – watch this space !

The + of this circuit : the unexpected discovery of the built heritage : Romanesque churches (la-Motte-de-Galaure, Claveyson-St-Andéol, Chantemerle-les-Blés), the largest stained glass window in Europe at St-Martin-des-Rosiers… ‘Les Roches qui dansent’ at St-Barthélémy-de-Vals. ‘La Maison de la céramique’ at St-Uze. Albon (Tower and golf course). Beaumont-Monteux (the Zen garden of Eric Borja).
