Events include visits to historic monuments, hikes and meetings with passionate winegrowers. This nomination aims to preserve and recognize the region’s unique winegrowing heritage.
Discover and celebrate this exceptional heritage during these two days.
The unique territory formed by the eight Côtes-du-Rhône septentrionales appellations, covering 4,260 hectares, is the birthplace of prestigious grape varieties such as syrah, viognier, marsanne and roussanne.
Contrary to popular belief, these emblematic grape varieties didn’t originate in Persia or Syria, but right here, in the territory of the Allobroges, an ancient Gallic territory of which Vienne was the capital. With 813 dedicated grape growers, the region embodies a passion and expertise in winemaking that has been passed down from generation to generation.
During these two special heritage days, discover the many treasures of this territory: from the architectural richness of Vienne, with its historic monuments and Roman remains, to the picturesque vineyards of Condrieu, via meetings with passionate winemakers, every moment is an opportunity to connect with the history and culture of our beautiful region.
European Heritage Days activities are free of charge (unless specified to the contrary).
