Pilat Rhodanien – The Rigotte Route – Loop 1.3
The Rhone Pilat offers magnificent bike rides for experienced or more occasional cyclists.
Description
Sporty side
The panorama of Semons, to be discovered at the start of this loop, gives a good overview of this 23 km route, pleasant and moderately steep on roads winding through vineyards and orchards. A nice sporting challenge with the ascent of the Bourrin and Croix Régis passes awaits you: the opportunity for a cycling outing with friends?
Tourism side
The Rigotte de Condrieu, classified AOP since 2013, is the pride of the goatherds of Pilat. This little unpasteurised goat's cheese in the shape of a cylindrical puck takes its
name from the patois “rigot” or “rigol”. Terms that designated the streams rushing down the slopes of the massif near the farms. A subtle aroma of hazelnuts, a creamy and supple paste are its taste characteristics. After two to three weeks of ripening, it will be even more appreciated if it is associated with a tasting of Condrieu.
