Côte-Rôtie Trail

Description

Take part in this new sporting event in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie vineyards!

On the program:
- Three trails for all levels: 8.1 miles, 15.5 miles, and 29 miles.
- Children's races: from 0.3 miles to 1.2 miles depending on age.
- A leisurely hike: 6.2 miles or 9.3 miles to explore the hillsides at a gentle pace.

THE TRAILS:

La Verticale
13 km | 600 m elevation gain | Start: 6 p.m. – Avenue du Château | Solo
Come and discover our Côte-Rôtie appellation vineyards on this trail that will take you to the heights of Ampuis. Although the distance of 13 km is manageable, don't take it lightly with its 600 m elevation gain, which makes it a bit challenging! But the effort is worth it to explore our hillsides and admire the magnificent views of Pilat, the Rhône, and our beautiful village...

La Brune et Blonde
25 km | 1,200 m elevation gain | Start: 4:30 p.m. – Avenue du Château | Solo
Travel through the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation from north to south of Ampuis and enjoy the diversity of the landscapes you pass through. This 25 km trail, certified UTMB 20K and ITRA1, requires you to be well prepared as it will take you up and down the hillsides to reach an elevation gain of 1200 m! Along this route, you will discover the demands of working in our vineyard and, at the same time, all its beauty...

The AOC
46 km | 2,500 m elevation gain | Start: 2 p.m. – Avenue du Château | Solo or duo
Take up the challenge and cross the entire Côte-Rôtie appellation, through the communes of Ampuis, Saint-Cyr-sur-Rhône, and Tupin-et-Semons. This route, certified by UTMB 50K and ITRA2, will take you through the most renowned vineyards and along the lesser-known trails of the region. It will put your legs to the test over 46 km with its succession of climbs and descents covering 2,500 m of elevation gain and will be formidable preparation for the big event in December. To be enjoyed in moderation, alone or in pairs!

The AOC relay race
46 km (25 km and 21 km) | 1,250 m elevation gain | Start: 3 p.m. – Avenue du Château | Relay race
If the full 46 km scares you and you'd rather test yourself over part of the distance first... If you've already run La Brune et Blonde and want to discover a slightly different route... Find a partner and share the AOC adventure in a 2-person relay! Choose between the first part of 25 km and 1,250 m elevation gain and the second part of 21 km and 1,250 m elevation gain, each of which is UTMB 20K and ITRA1 certified.

CHILDREN'S RACES: Les Millésimes
500m - 2 km | Starts from 4:45 p.m. – Avenue du Château
Children's races are open to children born:
between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2012, for the 2 km children's race;
between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2014, for the 1.5 km children's race;
between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2016, for the 1 km children's race;
between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2019, for the 500 m children's race.

Hiking: Les Vendangettes | 10 or 15 km | Start anytime between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

There are two routes through the hillsides, approximately 10 km and 15 km long, with itineraries that vary from one edition to the next.
